I have to admit to having been skeptical about a plastic comb, but it is substantial, sturdy and well made. The teeth of the comb are metal and it has widely spaced teeth at one end and narrower at the other. For years I have been brushingt my dog (a long-haired, very fluffy Australian Shepherd)., only using a comb when he was matted. This omb is so easy to use, and easy on hgim. It was actually easier than using the brush, and better at remmoving matts and tanglwes. The photo shows my dog half combed, since he rolled over on his back to have his tummmy rubbes before I could get to the other side. It also removed a lot of stray fur, which, no doubt, would have wound up all over the house. He is a prolific shedder.I would absolutely reccommend this comb. I found it easier to use than others I have had, and because it did not tug, my dog liked it better too.
As the full-time fur manager for two fluffy Aussies, I’ve tried my fair share of grooming tools — and this comb absolutely earns its keep.First off, the build quality is legit. The metal teeth are sturdy and well-spaced, so they glide through my Aussies’ coats without bending or feeling flimsy (a common problem with cheaper combs). It does a great job grabbing loose undercoat and helping stay ahead of the never-ending tumbleweeds of dog hair. The handle is comfortable and easy to grip, even during longer brushing sessions when my dogs suddenly remember they have places to be. It feels secure in the hand and doesn’t slip around.Performance-wise, this thing works. It pulls out an impressive amount of loose fur and helps keep shedding more manageable between full grooming sessions. It’s especially nice for working through wavy/medium coats like my Aussies have.Bottom line: sturdy, comfortable, and actually effective — which is exactly what you want in a grooming comb. If you’re battling seasonal shed storms, this one is definitely worth having in your toolkit. 🐾
Superior grooming coming breaks thru mats easy and leave a nice shine to coat.Well made . When your pick it up you can feel the quality .
Although this comb is marketed towards poodles and poodle mixed breeds it has worked great for our 2 small dogs. We have one Yorkie and one Yorkie mix, both have fairly long hair that mats easily and quickly after grooming if it isn't kept combed. I started using this comb after their last grooming several weeks ago and it has worked great. The dual spaced teeth really help get the tangles out so they don't turn into mats overtime. It also helps remove fur before it sheds and ends up on the floor or furniture which is really nice! The rounded tips of the teeth prevent scratching and irritation of the dogs' skin which was important for us because one of ours has really sensitive skin. This comb is easy to hold and while it is sturdy and strong it isn't very heavy at all. It is easy to maneuver in and out of those tougher spots like around the ears. I have noticed that our dogs actually like being combed now, they did not before and would nip at us when we were using the other comb, so we will definitely continue using the Freshly Bailey comb. Overall, this is a high quality metal comb for dogs and at a pretty good value. I highly recommend this product!
I got this Freshly Bailey Metal Comb for Dogs to actually use on cats lol. My dog has short fur and doesn't need anything like this, but I volunteer with kitties at a shelter, and we frequently have longer haired cats with tangles. I brought the comb to my shift this week, and luckily had a few kitties to try it on! Thankfully, neither of them had any heavy matting, but the comb worked great to smooth out their coats and make them look much more adoptable lol. Since their coats were in good shape, I mostly used the end with tighter/closer teeth, and it worked great! The wide end would be good for working through bigger tangles or mats, though. I'm also adding a quick reminder to start at the farthest end of the tangle and work your way up to the skin, and hold the fur your working on so that it doesn't pull on the pet's skin too much. It's the exact same principle as brushing tangled human hair with the least amount of pain possible. I also like the construction of the comb because the hard surfaces make it very easy to disinfect for use between animals; there aren't really any areas that nasty little beasties can hide in, and the material isn't at all porous. Overall, 10/10, five stars, great value for $13 USD.
This comb feels durable with metal combing areas for thick and thin pet hair. The overall comb length is about 7.25" and the combing area is about 6.5". The individual metal comb is about 1" long so it can go deep into the hair. I also like that it has round end so that it is safe to brush thru on my dog. The wide teeth area has about 21 combs, and the fine teeth area has about 36 combs. My dog's hair get matted easily so I use the wide teeth to help breaks up the matted area, otherwise using the fine teeth for normal combing to prevent matting in general.
I recently got the Freshly Bailey Metal Comb for my Poodle, and it’s been a game changer! The dual teeth design makes it super easy to tackle her curly coat. I’ve tried a few other combs before, but this one really stands out.The finer teeth are perfect for working through those stubborn tangles, while the wider teeth help to fluff her fur without pulling. What I love most is that it doesn’t seem to irritate her skin at all; she seems more relaxed during grooming sessions. It feels sturdy too, which is nice because I’ve had flimsy combs break on me before.Plus, the sleek greyhound design adds a touch of style! If you’re looking for a reliable comb that gets the job done without stressing your pup, I definitely recommend giving this one a try. It’s made my grooming routine much smoother and, honestly, more enjoyable for both of us!
I absolutely adore this metal comb! I actually bought it for my horses, and it works wonders on their manes and tails. The dual teeth effortlessly glide through even the thickest hair, tackling tangles and mats with ease without pulling or causing discomfort. The metal construction is incredibly robust and feels like it will last a lifetime. It makes grooming time so much more efficient and effective. This comb is a must-have for any horse owner!
This is a great comb. I got it to help comb out my Bernese Mountain dogs fur, especially on and around her ears. It works really well and makes combing it out easy. The comb looks and feels well-built. Love the slightly softer grip (the green part of the handle). Handle and comb are long, with long blades which I find works better than the smaller sizes comb I've been using for my longer haired Bernese Mountain dog.All in all, it's a great comb!
I live with a very fluffy cat who's fur gets tangled and matted easily if he doesn't get a good grooming. We are both happy to add this to our grooming kit because of how well it combs out his thick mane and chest fur. The build quality feels great and it's substantial enough that it's easy to hold on to while grooming a semi-cooperative animal. He likes to be groomed when and where it pleases him, so I want to get a second one to leave in the other room to cater to feline whim without getting out of my chair.
